Shipwreck

As we came to the end of the path through the woods the Atlantic Ocean , Lobster Cove and the shipwreck came into view. We walked down the path by Lobster Cove and on to the Maine rocky coastline to the steel hull of the tugboat.

The DT Sheridan ran aground during a dense fog in 1948. All crew members survived. The wreck was moved about 50 years onto the island during a storm in the 70’s.

After eating a packed lunch Natasha and I walked back into town to check out a few more sights on the island. Our boat would soon be returning to take use back to the mainland in Boothbay Harbor.
